Haemophilia Academy

In July 2017, the Haemophilia Academy marked its 10-year anniversary at ISTH (International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostatis) in Berlin, highlighting the achievements of our alumni to improve haemophilia care via a global network of collaborations.

A presentation theatre was held at the ISTH congress, with the below agenda, and was presented to a full capacity hall. Professor Christopher Ludlam (Scientific Chair) and Dr Victor Blanchette (Faculty member) spoke passionately about the programme, providing an overview of its history and aims, as well as highlighting the importance of global collaboration in the context of our growing network of alumni. Dr Stacy Croteau and Dr Rungrote Natesirinilkul, both past alumni, brought their experiences of the Haemophilia Academy to life to showcase how it has influenced their career decisions and future collaborations. We were also delighted to have Professor Johannes Oldenburg, Faculty member and ISTH Congress President, officially open the session.

Thank you to all who attended the presentation theatre. If you were unable to attend in Berlin, you may view the presentations by clicking on the titles in the below agenda.

Alumni networking event

A networking event for Haemophilia Academy alumni was also held during ISTH in Berlin, 2017. It was wonderful to see so many alumni in attendance and the Faculty were delighted to re-connect with attendees and share experiences. These events provide an opportunity to network with the Faculty and other Haemophilia Academy alumni and further strengthen relationships and collaborations. This event was our largest to date, and all alumni are encouraged to attend future events. If you are an alumnus of the Haemophilia Academy and your email address has changed, please ensure to advise the Haemophilia Academy Secretariat.
